the beauty of the sea - vintage find of the week!

Not so long ago,.I stumbled across a fabulous,. very large,..glamorous clam shell at a gorgeous local vintage haven,  (Frou-Frou in Springwood).  It looks just like the one featured in stylist, Debra Cronin's Woollahra terrace...  http://www.debracronindesign.com/Interiors.html

I use it as a whimsical ice bucket for champagne when we have guests,.. and also as a beautiful way to display seafood for parties.

last week I discovered, at a local thrift shop, the perfect 'plates' to go with it!

8 creamy scallop shells the size of entree plates!

I can just picture them delicately complimenting fresh sashimi,... or even as a contrast to a bright pink cupcake!

quite perfect,... don't you think?

:) Yes I do- delightful! You could also theme a wedding around them... large one a centrepiece on the main table, the small ones on the tables of close relatives, laden with flowers or chocolates or starfish and shells for a beach-loving couple... the possibilities are endless.

Good idea! I am thinking that a quirky high-tea would also be fun!

Go "Frou Frou"! I used to live just down the road, Jane. Loved a spot of Frou Frou when I ducked up for a coffee and a visit to the library with Luke. Great blog, love.
