a sweet vintage-y dress for a sweet little girl,..

a pretty grey, rainy old day today,..and i had a bit of time on my hands,..


so, i thought i would go about making a vintage-y swing dress for lottie.


had some cute, vintage inspired, little girl floral fabric in the cupboard.

cut out a simple shape, and then pinned the fabric.

sewed the hems, and added some elastic at the top.

these sweet little swing dresses will be available in lots of different vintage materials and can be bought from 'Carrie', or, in the meantime, via direct order.

a lazy sunday afternoon,..

having a bit of a down day here,....we all get them, right?  i think it is the time of year,...christmas,..new year,..holidays,..kids on holidays,..heat,...champagne.


it all catches up.


so,..it got me thinking about pretty things.


a way to cheer myself up, without too much effort.


here was the answer.


styled, vintage inspired coathangers.


quite simply, i painted some wooden hangers white.  leaving it looking a little distressed, and far from perfect.  then i added some ribbon and lace.

a little vintage, lace slip would look lovely displayed on one of these,...

welcome home carrie!

we collected our 1950's caravan during the week,.. it was a massive task with 3 small kiddies in tow,..and then a caravan in tow!


along the way home, we were passed by many, many other vehicles,.and it was amazing to see the smiles on peoples faces,..the thumbs up,..the honking of horns.  all for a cute little caravan.  i'm sure she brought back many memories for people in those cars.


i am not going to post terribly many pictures,..cause she is pretty, well, very grotty.

she is safely resting in a corner of our carpark area...ready for work!

all i'm missing is a gin & tonic! (the gin will be in the fridge when the renovation is finished).

the inside is completely original and the plan is to change the colour scheme.

there are some lovely old fabrics being used as curtains inside.  i am planning on turning them into cushion covers to retain some of her history.


let the work begin!
