tech problems,.... caused by a pot of tea.

so,...  yesterday afternoon,..my gorgeous...sweet,...adorable little four yr old, jasper,...spilled an entire pot of tea (T2 citrus punch!) over the keyboard of my white ibook.

gah.

it is a little worse for wear.

and i am sad.

consequently, i am posting on a tiny little web browsing lappie,....which is tedious to say the least,...  

so i thought i would post some images that i am inspired by at the moment... 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

these divine vignettes are the work of Melbourne Uber-stylist, Glen Proebst.  i am inspired by the colours, textures and 'stories' behind all of the items in his collections.  there is a gorgeous 'bowerbird' nature to his work,...that i guess in times gone by would have had him labelled as a hoarder!

i love to create vignettes of found items around my house with shells,..coral,..feathers,..flowers,.smooth pebbles,..vintage wooden stamps,..old black and white photos or slides,...etc,....  i find that you can make the 'collection' work by making sure the colours are all similar...  ie: a black and white photo can sit comfortably next to a magpie feather,..some grey river pebbles and some white coral.  you can add even more interest by juxtaposing the greyscale tones with a pop of colour,. and the best thing about a vignette like this, is that you can move it around or take it down when you tire of looking at it. 

kids are natural bowerbirds,..  let them make vignettes of their own,...  print some photographs of them,..send them into the garden,.and let their imagination take hold!
